Buddhist Textual and Scholarly Resources

• SuttaCentral — acknowledged for Pali source text and English translation material, including translations associated with Bhikkhu Sujato.
• Ancient Buddhist Texts — Ānandajoti Bhikkhu is credited for interlinear word meanings and commentary-related material associated with Dhammapada: Annotated Pali Text and Translation.
• Tipitaka.net — acknowledged for traditional Dhammapada Atthakatha stories and commentaries.

Consult the relevant source and individual text or translation page for the terms that apply to the material you wish to use.

Fonts, Software, and Services

The site uses the Google Fonts families Inter, Crimson Text, and Playfair Display. The backend declares FastAPI, Uvicorn, PyMongo, and python-dotenv.

Project documentation and source also identify MongoDB / MongoDB Atlas, Groq, the optional OpenAI API path, Vercel, Git and GitHub, Visual Studio Code, Postman or Thunder Client, Python, and Node.js as services or developer tools used to build, run, test, deploy, or support the project.

Each library, font, tool, and service remains subject to its own upstream copyright and licence terms.

Images and Dataset Provenance

The repository contains assets/images/buddha.jpg and assets/images/dharmachakra.png. Their original creators, source URLs, licences, and permission records are not established in the current project documentation.

These images are not represented here as public-domain, Creative Commons, or otherwise freely licensed. Their provenance should be verified before public redistribution or reuse outside this project.

The Dhammapada dataset combines material whose translations, commentaries, stories, and annotations may have different rights from the ancient underlying Pali text. New or redistributed records should retain their source, edition, author or translator, and applicable copyright or licence information.

Project Copyright and Citations

The repository currently does not declare a repository-wide open-source licence. Unless one is added, original project code remains under the copyright of its respective holder or holders, subject to rights in third-party material.

Dhamma AI verse citations support traceability, but they do not replace the copyright or licence notice required by an underlying source. For scholarly use, cite the original source or edition rather than treating this repository as the primary authority.
